Cervinia sits at 2,050m in the Aosta Valley, directly beneath the Matterhorn — the same mountain that defines Zermatt on the Swiss side. Its extraordinary altitude gives it one of the longest reliable seasons in the Alps (November through May), making it attractive for workers wanting a full winter without the gap months. The resort is less glamorous than Cortina or Courmayeur but offers a genuine alpine working environment with loyal returning staff. Many hotels offer vitto e alloggio (accommodation with meals) packages. The cross-border ski area with Zermatt gives it unique appeal for guests and instructors alike.
