South Tyrol is Italy's northernmost province — officially bilingual (German and Italian), culturally alpine, and one of Italy's wealthiest regions. Seasonal hospitality wages are noticeably higher than the rest of Italy, boosted by the provincial CCNL integrativo. German is the dominant working language in most resort settings, and bilingual (German + Italian) candidates are in high demand. The Dolomites scenery is widely regarded as the finest mountain landscape in the Alps.

Italy is an EU member state. EU and EEA citizens can work freely without a work permit. Swiss nationals can also work freely under the bilateral free movement agreement.
